Satire Spotted with Truth
I read "Microsoft Hopes XP SP3 Will Spur Upgrades to Vista" and thought, "That's only slightly funny. It's far too plausible."Then I got the following update on Tuesday the 30th (if I'm not mistaken, an important date for Microsoft):
After this update, I had to do the first and only "system restore" I've had to do since I bought the computer in August.
The update made my computer never finish starting up and kept any internet applications from ever opening (or in the case of IE7; from accessing my DSL connection).
So - BBSpot Satire became truth, this time. Except, they'll have to launch an "update" that wipes out my system restore points for me to think about updating to Vista.
